Microsoft unveiled its intention in creating a battery saving feature in January of this year. They did it while when testing the update created on windows 10 in one of their build phases i.e. 15002. The feature has also been tested by external individuals who have agreed with the conclusion that Power Throttling can save around 11% of the total battery life in a device. However, Microsoft didn’t stop there but continued to test the feature some more and ensure smoothness in its functionality. Compatibility in Using the Power Throttling Feature
The feature is designed to help save battery life that is normally diminished by processors and applications running on a device. With that, the Power Throttling feature is currently compatible with the 6th generation Intel processors that tend to use the speed shift type of technology, other core processors that go beyond the 6th generation such as Kaby Lake and Sky Lake processors.
