Owner of Motorola, Lenovo has released Moto E the second generation of smartphone. Lenovo made a great success in China but has yet to concur Indian market, and this is a valuable breakthrough. The phone will be sold only on Flipkart. The first generation of this phone was popular, and this second version is expected to have even bigger impact. The second generation is trying to bring new life into the product, and they have quite succeeded.
Features
The phone features 4.5 inch touchscreen with resolution 960 x 450 pixels. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Snapdragon 410 Processor was improved and features 64-bit 1.2 GHz. It operates on the 5.0 Lollipop Android.
The screen size has been altered and now features 4.5 inches, but the HD resolution remained the same. That means the phone’s sharpness is low. Another thing that was upgraded is the camera. It has an autofocus feature and sensors which trigger a quick capture. Simple jerking the handset will get the camera starting. The smartphone has a rear and front VGA camera with 5 megapixels.
The Mote E comes in two different colors, black and white and the best part is that they can be personalized by putting six different Motorola Bands. The color of the bands are as follows: turquoise, golden, blue, purple, yellow, red and raspberry. The phone also has five grip shells which give the phone more protection and grip without making the phone thick. The colors of grip shells can be found in Golden, charcoal, turquoise, blue, yellow and raspberry.
The phone is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0LE, WiFi, GPS, micro USB, and GLONASS. This intelligent phone has a low cost of only $120, which makes one part of its success. Its predecessors also came at low cost, and they can also thank one part of their success to affordable prices. Motorola has decided to enter the competition with a few Chinese companies such as Xiaomi and a few other. That’s why the price is low, and the quality is pleasing.
The storage has been improved, and now features 8GB unformatted. However, if that is not satisfying another 32 GB can be added via micro SD card. The users will also benefit from Moto Display, as they will be able to get notifications and updates without constant interruptions. In order to transfer photos, contacts, videos to a new phone, Moto Migrate will do the trick.
Additions To The Software
When it comes to software, this smartphone operates similarly to Google Nexus. However, there are some additions Motorola implemented. Those additions are Moto Migrate application and a few widgets. That’s not all; Motorola decided to bring some of its former experiences from flash grip Moto x to its new Moto E of the second generation. Things like display technology or Quick Capture feature used in Moto X, users will be able to find them now in Moto E. Another great addition to software is lollipop.
Design
The design of the smartphone gives a sleek, smooth and cheerful appeal with a rounded back. One thing that instantly stands out is the how the phone gives a dense and weighty feel, which is a good thing. It may not be known and marketed for its durability, but the phone can take a beating. If you drop it, it will not break that easy. The battery has a long life and can endure the entire day of usage.
With the new Moto E 2nd generation, the users will enjoy Moto Display for notifications and updates without being interrupted all the time. Also, the device offers Moto Migrate, which is used easily to transfer contacts, photos and videos to your new phones.
Verdict
The second generation of Moto E has made some good improvements. For only $120 users will be able to enjoy a nice and sleek design, cheerful Motorola Bands, a solid camera, new display and of course Moto Migrate feature. To choose among budget smartphones is more difficult than ever. It all depends on the preferences, likes, and dislikes. At the end of the day, we can say with certainty that Moto E 2nd generation has made the cut. The phone has a bright future in front. Sure, there is always room for improvements, but when keeping the budget in mind, the phone is satisfying.
