Don’t Install Android 5.02 to Your Nexus 9!

Introduction

The brand new Android 5.02 update to the mobile phone and tablet operating system has been out today, however, it is hardly recommended for users to install it on their devices. Why? According to the Google product forums, the software has some serious issues with the installation process. The problem with that is not regarding the download of the update but the installation. When users have tried to install the software for their devices, most of the gadgets have broken down or weren’t been able to use. Google has made a mistake in the writing of the software, they have not tested it properly, so a bug has gotten into the system that made unable to install the program to the Nexus 9 tablet.

As we have written in the previous paragraph, we do not recommend to our readers who have the Nexus 9 tablet to download the brand new Android update. The new patch breaks down most of the systems, so they will be unable to function properly. However, on Google’s product forums someone have uploaded a tweak (user-made) that fixes the problem. The fix involves restarting the whole system in order for the new update to function properly. We advise those who have accidentally downloaded and installed the new update to search for this tweak and use it until Google will fix this problem.

Problems with Android

Android hasn’t been known for its trustworthiness and stability. That’s why I am not really surprised about the latest bug with the new 5.02 update to the operating system. However, most people that use Android love it. They just simply like it, since Google has put serious manpower and funds into the development of the OS to make it better, more secure and more stable system and, of course, to get ahead of Google’s hardest competitor, Apple. Apple’s IOS is not the most stable system out there, however, the stability of the OS is much better than Android’s. One of the biggest problem of Android is that many of the devices that have been sold to users and have the Android OS running on it are pretty old and there’s no chance to upgrade the operating system to a newer version. Those old phones or tablets are running very old versions of the OS, which were fewer stable ones. They are not compatible with new software, or they have problems running them. That’s why Android is not so famous for its stability.

It would be a pretty great move from Google to make a new version of Android that is compatible with all phones and tablets in the world that are running the same OS: Android. That would make the system accessible and more stable for old users too. However, this move would decrease the sales of new Android devices, which would endanger the position of the OS in the world market. So, this idea of mine seems to be a utopia, since Google would not do anything like it, at least not in the near future. However, Google has shown several times that the company does not care about profits, they care mostly about their customers.

Bugs in Software

Sadly, it is a very common thing nowadays, to have a bug in the release version (1.0) of a newly released product. People are always buying everything as fast as they can. So, developers have been put under serious pressure, they need to develop software as fast as they can, usually they don’t have time to remove bugs from their systems.

One of the worst case of this is Early Access PC Games on Steam. What is that? Early Access is a function in Steam (gaming platform) where impatient users can decide to buy PC games that are in a very early development, most usually in a pre-alpha version. You can buy the games for full price, play with the early version for as long as you want then get access to the full version when the company has developed it. However, they don’t really hurry with the development of the full game since there are many customers who buy the early version, so they have their profits already.
