Lenovo Yoga Book Tablet with a Notepad

Lenovo Yoga Book is a tablet that has a bottom portion that is the notebook with a touch panel. It is slim and has a metal casing. The touch panel acts as a graphic tablet that receives input from a stylus or as a touch keyboard.

Design

Various components were arranged by Lenovo engineers into a thin package which is about 4mm thick. They entail electromagnetic resonance film, LCD panel, Gorilla glass, light guide film (LGF) backlighting and other system components.

It has a watchband-style hinge that allows for easy operation of the tablet at any desired angle. It is made through a combination of magnesium and aluminum alloys. Surprisingly, you can turn it to a point that you end up having a thicker tablet just like the rest of the regular tablets. It’s a big up to the engineers. The bottom part can also be used as a stand.

Halo keyboard

It has a glass surface with irradiated halo keys on the bottom portion. The feature makes it have an ultra-modern appearance. The halo keyboard is illuminated through a press of a button. The Lenovo implemented the autocorrect and predictive text software that allows for optimization and also the sensitive haptic technology that gives feedback to guide typing and minimize mistakes. The glass is rough and has an anti-glare coating to enhance the typing experience.

The Real-pen Accessory

The tablet comes along with stylus pen designed in a way that they perform consistently and you can replace them. It has a digitizer and a multi-purpose stylus. It allows you to write, sketch or draw while digitalizing your work instantly. The digitizer inside the portion with the keyboard is Wacom-powered and it detects stylus movement. There are two different stylus tips i.e. one that you can write with directly on the glass with a pressure of 2048 and a detection angle of 100degrees. This allows you to control the accuracy of your pen.

You can also use the second one which is a small ink cartridge to write on an A5-sized notepad which comes with the tablet. It is placed on the touch panel for the digitizer to detect the stylus movements. It uses the electromagnetic field to detect the stylus tip which, in turn, provides a signal when it is being pressed against the notepad. You do not have to use a special paper or a sensor on the paper but you need to use the provided pen.

Switching from Keyboard to Notepad

To remain with the sketchpad on the bottom surface of the tablet, you have to switch off the halo keyboard. Press the button on your real pen to activate the notepad. This gives you a room to write, sketch or draw on it. Switching off the pen deactivates the digitalizing pad and reactivates the halo keyboard.

Book UI

It allows Yoga Book to combine work and play in one tablet. It utilizes Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating systemfrom the best UI features. This allows for automatic recording of your scribbles in the note-taking app and also multitasking. The taskbar helps you to keep track of your running apps, other action keys and windows keyboard shortcuts. This app stores your background input. At the bottom right of your screen, a small window pops up to capture all your doodles. Amazingly, it stores any scribbles whether the tablet is asleep or awake. The system detects doodles at a distance.

It has an Intel Atom x5processor. Its 8500mAh battery can last for about 15hours when used for a general purpose. It has a RAM of 4GB.

How it works?

It is believed to be a great device with the main function in note-taking. It allows you to write, sketch and draw on paper or glass. Gorilla glass which is about 0.55mm enhances the appearance of the tablet. It makes up the screen and the keyboard. The keyboard is a bit rough to facilitate typing. The touch panel is underneath the glass. It recognizes your typing. LGF which is below it lightens up the keys.

This is followed by the electromagnetic resonance (EMR) film which is powered by Wacom feel™ IT Technology. The pen sends electromagnetic waves to the sensor which are processed through algorithm-based analysis. This allows for real-time data digitization

What you write or draw is mirroredimmediately. When drawing you can also be manipulating the content on screen by use of your one hand in order to have it in a more fluid manner. The tablets also contain a button that allows you to prevent mixing of your work wheneveryou turn to the next page on your notepad. The Wacom technology allows the digital notepad to digitize data immediately you scribble it down with Lenovo’s pen that uses normal ink.

It also allows you to take a photo of your notes
